In accordance with the provisions of the Bylaws for the Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Implementation Measures for the Election of New Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Trial), and the Election Procedures for Foreign Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences elected 73 new Academicians and 27 new Foreign Academicians in 2025. Professor Li Shutao, President of Chang'an University, was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.



Li Shutao, male, was born on October 16, 1972, in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. He currently serves as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of Chang'an University. He was elected Academician of the Information Technology Sciences Division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2025.
Academician Li Shutao has long been engaged in research within the field of image information fusion. His research achievements have been honoured with two National Natural Science Awards (Second Class) (both ranked first), two National Science and Technology Progress Awards (Second Class) (ranked third and fifth), the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (ranked first), the 2023 IEEE GRSS Education Award, the National Innovation Pioneer Award, the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Outstanding Contribution Award, the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) David Landgraber Award, and the IEEE GRSS Most Influential Paper Award.
