Chang’an University Signed a Cooperation Agreement with Leibniz University Hannover on a “3+1+2” program

On July 8th, Egbert Baake, director of the Institute of Electrothermic Process Engineering and professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Leibniz University Hannover, and Li Kai, director of inter-university cooperation programs, visited Changan University. Relevant persons in charge from the Office of International Affairs of Changan University attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Huang Guanwen, director of the Office of International Affairs, briefly introduced the general situation of Chang’an University, as well as its discipline construction, faculty team and scientific research achievements. He also reviewed the cooperation and exchange between Changan University and German universities, and stated that Changan University attaches great importance to cooperation with world-class universities and has always been committed to promoting substantive exchanges and cooperation.

Egbert Baake expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from Changan University and introduced the overall situation of Leibniz University Hannover, with a particular focus on the teaching and research developments of his affiliated faculty. Both parties conducted in-depth exchanges on the progress of the “3+1+2” undergraduate-master integrated program, shared opinions on student exchange programs, joint doctoral training, and collaborative research initiatives, and reached a preliminary consensus.

After the meeting, both parties exchanged the cooperation agreement on the “3+1+2” undergraduate-master integrated program.

Founded in 1831, Leibniz University Hannover is a renowned public research university in Germany, ranking 351st in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The “3+1+2” undergraduate-master integrated program signed this time is open to junior students of Changan University. Students will first study at Leibniz University Hannover for one academic year as tuition-free exchange students. Upon successful completion of the year, they will obtain the undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree from Chang’an University, while simultaneously gaining admission to the master’s program at Leibniz University Hannover. Afterwards, students will continue their master’s studies at Leibniz University Hannover, which lasts for 2 years, and no tuition fees will be charged by the German side during their study period in Germany.
