CHU leader led a delegation to participate in the 24th Annual China International Education Conference

On October 27, the 24th Annual China International Education Conference sponsored by China Education Association for International Exchange opened in Beijing. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the plenary conference. Vice President Fan Wen led a delegation to attend the annual meeting and participate in the 4th China-U.S. Provincial and State Presidents' Forum as a seminar guest.

As an important part of this annual conference, the 4th China-U.S. Provincial and State Presidents' Forum was attended by representatives from more than 100 Chinese and American universities and invited presidents of 12 Chinese and American universities to be the guest speakers and discussants. The theme of the forum was to deepen the connotation of cooperation and strengthen the sharing of resources between Chinese and American universities - building a cooperative platform for talent cultivation and scientific research with local characteristics and industry features. At the seminar, Vice President Fan Wen stressed that it is important to fully understand the significance of international talent cultivation work in universities. Chinese universities should take the initiative to dock the national social needs in talent cultivation. As a characteristic university in the field of transportation,  land resources and urban and rural construction, Chang'an University give full play to the disciplinary advantages, actively respond to the exchange mechanism between Chinese and foreigners, and make use of regional advantages and industry characteristics. CHU make full use of various channels such as cooperative education and joint cultivation to promote the complementarity of educational strengths between China and foreign universities. 

International Cooperation and Exchange Office, International Education School and Chang’an Dublin International College of Transportation of Chang’an University were invited to participate in the forums. The International Cooperation and Exchange Office attended the China-U.S. Provincial and State Presidents' Forum, the International Education School attended the Forum on Opportunities and Challenges of Study Abroad in China under the New Situation, and the Chang’an Dublin International College of Transportation attended the China-Ireland Cooperation Education Forum and given a report entitled China-Ireland Cooperation and Cultivation Practices of Highway and Transportation Internationalized Talents.

The China International Education Conference is an annual event in the international education sector organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange with the strong support of the Ministry of Education and the approval of the State Council. The main activities of this year's conference consisted of more than 100 bilateral and multilateral activities such as plenary sessions, parallel forums, cooperation talks and educational exhibitions, which attracted about 4500 Chinese and foreign educators, embassy and consulate officials and enterprise representatives from more than 60 countries and regions around the world to participate in the conference.
