CHU and The University of Pretoria Signed A Cooperation Agreement to Build An International Joint Research Center

In order to further promote the exchanges and cooperation between our university and the countries along the “Belt and Road”, recently our university’s party committee secretary Chen Feng and South Africa University of Pretoria President Toomas Asser signed a cooperation agreement on the cooperation and construction of an international joint research center on behalf of the two universities. .

 

According to the agreement, the two universities plan to cooperate in the establishment of the International Joint Research Center for Smart and Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure, focusing on research on smart cities and intelligent transportation systems, sustainable transportation development, structural safety of large-scale infrastructure, road materials and pavement design, etc. To carry out cooperation in the field, promote research and cooperation in the field of road engineering and pavement materials and transportation infrastructure technology, and is committed to the exchange of teachers and students and cooperative scientific research between the two universities, focusing on the joint training of young scholars from the two universities. The two parties plan to declare the research center to be a China-South Africa joint research center supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the two countries, and confirm preliminary cooperation in two projects: accelerated loading road testing methods and facilities, smart materials in road engineering, and smart pavement.
