On November 3th 2017, Professor Akihiro Wakahara, assistant to President of Toyohashi University of Technology, visited Chang’an University. Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed the guest at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by heads of the International Office, School of Electronic Control and School of Information.
Vice President Zhao Junhai extended his warm welcome to the arrival of ProfessorAkihiro Wakahara and briefly introduced the college from the perspectives of school size, characteristic of subjects, and cultivation of talents, he also highlighted the international exchanges in detail. Mr. Zhao said that the internationalization strategy has become one of the major development strategies of Chang’an University. At present, Chang’an University has been included innational first-class discipline construction in colleges and universities. Thus, Chang’an Universitywill certainly put forward higher requirements for international cooperation. Since international cooperation recently has a broad space for development, Mr. Zhao hoped that two universities could promote closer collaborations and further cooperation in more fields.
ProfessorAkihiro Wakahara expressed his appreciation for the reception and briefly introduced recent development of Toyohashi University of Technology. Then he highly endorsed Vice President Zhao's idea about long-term cooperation plan. He said that Toyohashi University of Technology attaches great importance to cooperation with Chang’an University. His visit aims at promoting further cooperation in more fields and closer collaborations.
Toyohashi University of Technology is a Japanese national university founded in 1976. The university aims at becoming the world's top university in science and engineering, it focuses on the research of applied technology, as well as developing students' technical research ability. In 2014, Toyohashi University of Science and Technology were selected as one of the 37 universities in"Super International University Program" set up by Japanese Ministry of Education. The university has mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, information engineering, environmental engineering, architecture and civil engineering departments. With strength in the field of engineering, Toyohashi University of Technology ranked 14 among Japan Engineering Universities.
