On the November 10th, 2016, the delegation led by the Vice Minister Barbara Howell of the Faculty of Engineering of Coventry University, UK, visited our university. Vice President Zhao Junhai met visiting guests in the Guest Hall of the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by the chief director Jiang Zaiwen of the International Department.
Vice President Zhao expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of the delegation led by Vice Minister Barbara Howell, and gave a brief introduction of the Chang’ an University on the history development, school scale, characteristics of disciplines, prospects and the talent development. He focused on the university in the transport sector to participate in major national construction projects and foreign exchange situation of our school. He pointed out that international engineering has become one of the major development strategies of the school, the school attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with educational research institutions around the world, and strive to improve the level of international cooperation and exchange through teacher visits, student co-cultivation, . He hoped that through the visit of the delegation led by Barbara Howell, vice minister as an opportunity to further promote the two sides in more areas, deeper pragmatic cooperation and exchanges.
Vice Minister Barbara Howell expressed her appreciation for the warm reception of our school and highly appreciated the idea of international engineering to boost the school's rapid development. She briefed Coventry University on the development of the University and said the two schools of internationalization strategy is very similar to the subject area has broad prospects for cooperation. She hoped to further expand cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in more fields on the basis of the signed cooperation framework agreement.
After the meeting, Vice Minister Barbara Howell and the Head of the International Department conducted in-depth exchanges on the content of cooperation, and reached a broad consensus.
