On the October 14th2016,Prof.Wei Gao ,the Academician of New Zealand and Royal Academy of Sciences visited Chang’an University .Accompanied by the Jiang Zaiwen ,the director of International Office and Chen Xinhua ,the dean of School of Materials ,vice president Zhao Junhai welcomed the delegation led by academician Wei Gao in the Guest Hall of Academic Center with hospitality.
Vice president Zhao expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of Prof .Wei Gao and introduced our university from the university history ,campus distribution and characteristics of disciplines and highlighted the basic situation of the foreign research cooperation of Chang’an University .He pointed out that characteristics of disciplines of our university in the highway transportations, land resources and environment, urban and rural construction are obvious .In recent years ,our university attached great importance to the cooperation and exchanges with overseas well-known educational institutions ,focusing on teacher and students exchanges ,research cooperation. He hoped that through the visit of Academician Wei Gao, we will open the pragmatic cooperation between our university and Auckland University of New Zealand and lay a solid foundation for further cooperation.
Academician Wei Gao expressed sincere gratitude to the warm reception and appreciated the concept of Internationalization of Chang ‘an University .He gave a brief introduction to the basic situation of Auckland University of New Zealand and highlighted the basic situation of two schools in the cooperative research and joint training of students. He said that the visit is to further promote cooperation and exchanges between the two sides to establish inter-school cooperation as soon as possible.
After the meeting, Prof. Wei Gao made an academic report for the teachers and students of the School of Materials Science, and conducted in-depth academic discussions with related professors in the field of materials science.
