On the afternoon of Oct. 7th, 2016, the Part-time Professor Appointment Ceremony for Prof. Ma Zhongguo John of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was held at Room 604, Traffic Science and Technology Building. He Shuanhai, vice president of Chang'an University, the person in charge of Academic Affairs and the teacher representatives from the Institute of Bridge Engineering at the school of Highway Engineering participated in the appointment ceremony
Vice President He Shuanhai issued a part-time professor appointment certificate to Ma Zhongguo John,and wear the Chang'an University badge. He hoped that Professor Ma actively offer advice and suggestions for Chang'an University, especially the development of bridge engineering disciplines, help our bridge engineering disciplines towards internationalization.
Professor Ma expressed his gratitude for the honor given by Chang'an University. He expressed his willingness to use his own experience to build a communication platform for the bridge engineering discipline of Chang'an University and to establish an academic connection with the outside world, contributing to the development of Chang'an University.
Professor Li Jiawu, director of the Institude of Bridge, briefly introduced to Professor Ma on the development history and characteristics of the bridge engineering discipline in our university and the main research direction and the composition of the faculty. Professor Zhou Yongjun, deputy director of the Institude of Bridge, introduced Professor Ma's work-study experience, achievements in scientific research and his position in relevant academic institutions.
After the ceremony, the participating teachers and Professor Ma discussed on the China-US university engineering education, graduate training programs and the presentation of scientific and technological achievements were and other aspects.
