Prof.Shiban Kishen Koul, Vice President of Indian Institute of      Technology (Delhi) Visited

On March 18th 2016. Professor Shiban Kishen Koul, Vice President of Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi) Visited Chang’an University.  President Ma Jian and Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed Professor Shiban Kishen Koul in the Guest Hall of the Academic Centre with hospitality, accompanied by directors of Development Planning Department, the International Cooperation Office, School of Electronic Control and School of Information Engineering.

 

Professor Ma Jian expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Shiban Kishen Koul and gave a brief introduction to the university from the university history, campus distribution, the characteristic of the subjects and the foreign exchange and cooperation. He pointed that both China and India have great influence on the world, and Chang’an University pays great attention to the collaboration and exchange with Indian universities. To adapt to the development of higher education internationalization trend, our university has put internationalization as one of the significant development strategies. He hoped that taking this visit as an opportunity, both sides would have a further understanding about each other, enhance mutual trust and make efforts to  establish a comprehensive cooperative relations through exchange of faculty membwes, students, and scientific research.

 

Professor Shiban Kishen Koul expressed sincere gratitude to the warm reception, and gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of IIT (Delhi) from the university mission, history, campus distribution, the characteristic of the subjects, the talent training, service to the society, and internationalization development situation, etc. He expressed agreements with Professor Ma Jian about the proposals of cooperation. He stressed that IIT (Delhi) and Chang’an University have a number of similarities in the set of disciplines, so both universities have broad prospects for cooperation, and IIT (Delhi) looks forward to signing the comprehensive cooperation agreements with Chang’an University within this year, to promote substantial cooperation between two universities.

 After the meeting, Professor Shiban Kishen Koul visited laboratory of School of Information Engineering with Vice President Zhao Junhai. The two sides had a discussion about the cooperation agreement’s text, and reached consensus.
