On March14th 2016, Professor Barb Campbell, the Director of International Office of University of Prince Edward Island Visited Chang’an University. Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed Professor Barb Campbell in the Guest Hall of the Academic Centre with hospitality, accompanied by the director of the International Cooperation Office.
Professor Zhao Junhai expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Barb Campbell and gave a brief introduction to the university from the aspects of the education scale, the characteristic of the subjects and the cultivation of the talents ,especially from the aspects of specialized disciplines to the participation in national-level large-scale infrastructure construction projects and foreign exchange development in our university. He pointed out that internationalization has become one of the significant development strategies and great attention has been paid to the communication and cooperation with overseas famous educational and scientific research institutions. He hopes that through the exchange visits of faculty members, student joint-education programs, cooperation in scientific research, and other forms of collaboration, both universities would continue to expand the breadth and depth of international exchange. He hopes that taking this visit as an opportunity, both sides would have a further understanding about each other, build a stronger relation and accelerate the potential collaboration.
Professor Barb Campbell expressed sincere gratitude to the warm reception, and made a brief introduction to the development and basic situation of international communicationof the University of Prince Edward Island. She expressed her total agreements with Professor Zhao Junhai about the principles of cooperation. She said both universities have broad consensus of cooperation and broad prospects for cooperation with each other, and UPEI lookS forward to establishing comprehensive cooperative relations with Chang’an university as soon as possible.
After the meeting, both sides carried on an extensive discussion about the detailed collaboration at the second meeting room in the Guest Hall of the Academic Centre.
