Professor Filaretov Gennady,Academician of ,the Russian Academy of Sciences, Visited Chang’an Univer

On November 2, 2015, Professor Filaretov Gennady from Moscow Power Engineering Institute , academician of ,the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the delegation visited Chang’an university on invitation.

 

Vice President Zhao Junhai had a meeting with the honorable guests in guest hall of Academic Communication Center. Directors of International Cooperation Office, School of Environmental Science and Engineering and School of Electronic Control attended the meeting. Vice President Zhao Junhai warmly welcomed the visit of Professor Filaretov Gennady and gave an introduction to Chang’an University from the aspects of university history, university size and discipline features, and especially introduced the development and current state of environmental engineering discipline in our university. He pointed out that Chang 'an university possesses great cooperation relations with Russia's many higher education institutes and continuously consolidate the bilateral cooperation through exchange of faculty visits, cooperation in scientific research and students joint education. He hoped that through the visit of Professor Filaretov Gennady ,the communication and cooperation between two universities can be substantially pushed forward and both sides would seek for all-round and deep development to provide better opportunities and platforms for mutual development.

 

Professor Filaretov Gennady also expressed thanks to our warm reception, highly endorsed the cooperation suggestions proposed by Vice President Zhao Junhai, and briefly introduced the basic situation to the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He said both Moscow Power Engineering Institute and Chang’an university are members of "University Union of the New Silk Road ". The two sides have a good cooperation consensus and broad cooperation space, and he hoped that through this visit, the two universities can establish more extensive cooperation and jointly explore broader areas of cooperation.

 

After the meeting, Professor Filaretov Gennady and his delegation  further discussed specific cooperation issues with faculty members of School of Environmental Science and Engineering and School of Electronic Control and reached broad consensus.

 

Moscow Power Engineering Institute, founded in 1930, is the Alma Mater of the former prime minister Li Peng when he studied in Russia and one of Russia's most important university on the discipline of power, electricity, electronics and informatics.
