Professor John Quirk, Assistant to the Chancellor of Coventry University Visited Chang’an University

On March. 31st 2015, Professor John Quirk, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of British Coventry University and deputy director of Department of Construction professor Barbara Howell visited Chang’an University on invitation. Vice President Zhao Junhai had meetings with the honorable British guests in Guest Hall of Academic Exchange Center. Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Highway attended the meeting.
Vice President Zhao Junhai warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation of Coventry University and gave an introduction to the various campuses and the construction of the new Weishui campus, with the emphasis on roads, bridges, tunnels and other large engineering projects that Chang’an University has participated in and it`s internationalization strategies .
He points out that international cooperation has become one of the significant development strategies of Chang’an University. It also pays a great deal of attention to the development of internationalization, and nowadays it is actively expanding the depth of international cooperation through exchange visits of faculty members, joint-education of students, joint construction of laboratory and so on. He believes that through the collaboration of the two universities, both parties can learn from it the successful experiences.
Professor John Quirk, assistant to the Vice Chancellor expressed thanks to the warm reception and introduced the development of British Coventry University. He appreciated Chang’an University`s development and the engineering projects that Chang’an University participated in. He says the strategies of development of these two universities are similar and he hopes these two universities can have more cooperation in the future.
After the meeting, Vice President Zhao Junhai and Professor John Quirk signed the “3+1+1” Dual Degree Agreements between Chang’an University and British Coventry University respectively. Afterwards, Assistant Principal professor John Quirk had a tour on the sand table and laboratory of School of Information Engineering, accompanied by Vice President Zhao Jun Hai.
