From May 12thto May 16th2014, the Chair of International Society of Asphalt Pavements Professor Hervé Di Benedetto from University of Lyon visited Chang’an University on invitation and appointed as guest professor and editor for the English version ofJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering. Vice President Zhao Junhai had a meeting with the honorable guest and issued the appointment letter in guest hall of Academic Communication Center. Assistant to President He Shuanhai, director of International Cooperation Office, School of Highway and Periodical Office attended the meeting.
Vice President Zhao Junhai warmly welcomed the visit of Professor Hervé Di Benedetto and gave an introduction of Chang’an University from the aspects of university history, discipline features and new progress in international cooperation and exchange these years. He points out that Chang’an University is a comprehensive higher education institution with engineering as its main focus, combining engineering and sciences, with multidisciplinary development in social sciences and humanities. Chang’an University pays great attention to the collaboration and exchange with worldwide higher education institutions, besides providing students different chances to study abroad and encouraging overseas faculty visits, it is now also actively expanding ways to invite more international high-level scholars to teach and give lectures. Vice President Zhao Junhai congratulated Professor Hervé Di Benedetto for his appointment as the editor for the English version ofJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering,and he hopes that Professor Hervé Di Benedetto would strongly support the discipline development, scientific research, academic exchange and talent nurturing, promoting the progress of relevant disciplines.
Professor Hervé Di Benedetto says he is honored to be appointed as the editor for the English version ofJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering,and he will spare no efforts to devote to substantial work and he sincerely hoped that a long and solid collaboration relationship could be built with Chang’an University.
Doctor Hervé Di Benedetto, professor of University of Lyon, adjunct professor of Quebec University, researched in Geotechnical Engineering, Pavement Engineering and Geotechnical Material Rheology and published more than 160 papers. Professor Hervé Di Benedetto is the Chair of International Society of Asphalt Pavements (ISAP), the only non-American committee member of American Asphalt Pavement Association, committee member of Internation Material and Structure Research Experiment Association, and has been invited as the appraisal experts for scientific research projects of France, Canada, Britain and America.
