Chang'an University and The University of Auckland Held a Video Conference on Sino-foreign Cooperative Schooling

On the morning of December 7, 2021, a video conference on project cooperation was held between CHD and the University of Auckland, New Zealand (UoA). Prakash Ranjitkar, head of the Department of Traffic Engineering of UoA, and all teachers of the Department of Traffic Engineering of the University, Bai Qiang, the person in charge of the newly approved project of the China Scholarship Council to promote cooperation with Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America, and teachers of the CHD International Office and the School of Transport of the University attended the meeting.


Bai Qiang pointed out that the College of Transportation Engineering has three majors, including traffic engineering, transportation and big data management and application, according to the professional orientation and discipline construction needs. The college has the Western City Cluster Transportation Sustainable Development Discipline Innovation and Intelligence Base ('111 Plan'), One Belt One Road along the International Joint Center for Digital Construction and Management of Transportation Infrastructure, National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Road Traffic and Transportation Engineering, National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center of Road Traffic and Transportation Engineering, etc. Specialized discipline platforms and research institutions. The university hopes to establish a world-class, internationally influential, life-long wisdom management team for transportation infrastructure systems to meet the major needs of the country, to serve the One Belt, One Road initiative, and to promote the construction of a strong transportation country through the project cooperation.


Prakash Ranjitkar briefly introduced the basic situation of UoA, focusing on the disciplinary characteristics, undergraduate and graduate programs and key research areas of transportation engineering. He expressed that he would cooperate with CHD to further carry out a series of academic lectures, the introduction of high-level talents and other in-depth cooperation.


During the meeting, relevant professors from the School of Transportation Engineering and UoA had a detailed discussion on their own research contents, the main research directions they wish to cooperate with, and the key research cooperation areas. Both sides agreed to continue to carry out a series of discussions in their respective areas of cooperation, and jointly promote the cooperation between the two universities to go deeper and more practical.
