Professor Wang Xuance of University of Curtin, Australia Visited  Chang’ an University

On the July 9th2016, the delegation of Prof. Wang Xuance, distinguished Professor of Shaanxi Province "Hundred Talents Program" of our school, professor of University of Curtin came to our university for the visiting and academic exchanges. Accompanied by the director Hui Jizhuang of Personnel Department, director Jiang Zaiwen of International Department and Prof. Li Rongxi, the dean of School of Resources, Vice President Zhang Xiangmo welcomed the delegation of Prof. Wang Xuance in the Academic Exchange Center.

Vice President Zhao expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of Prof. Wang Xuance and appreciated Prof. Wang Xuance's achievements in discipline construction, talent team building and laboratory construction at Chang'an University over the past year. He said that the school will continue to fully support the construction and development of Professor Wang Xuance and his team and hoped that Professor Wang Xuance's team will make breakthroughs in high-level personnel training and make greater achievements and contributions to the scientific construction of geology. He said that the school authorities will be innovative mechanisms for Professor Wang Xuance provide a good environment and the necessary conditions.

After the meeting, Prof. Wang Xuance made a report entitled < Roles of deep-Earth fluid cycling in generating large-scale intra-continental magmatism> for the teachers and students, introduced the relationship between the deep water circulation of the earth and the genesis of the large scale magma in the continent.

During the visit, the delegation of Prof. Wang visited the key Laboratory of Mineral Resources and Geological Engineering of the Ministry of Education, West China of Chang'an University and had a number of meetings with related departments and laboratory personnel of School of Resources and had in-depth exchanges on personnel training, scientific research and laboratory construction and other issues.

Prof. Wang Xuance is the recipient of the Outstanding Youth Fund of the Australian Foundation and distinguished professor of "Hundred Talents Program" in Shaanxi Province in the field of geosciences and resources and environment and doctoral tutor of our university. His research direction is geochemistry and geochemistry kinetics and published 59 academic papers included in SCI, including Nature Communications (the first author), Nature (cooperation), Geology (first author 2, cooperation 1), Earth and The number of SCI cited 3358 times, and the high index H index 23 so far.
