Vice-president of University College Dublin Prof. Paul Fanning Visited Chang’an University

On March 14, 2018, vice-president of University College Dublin Paul Fanning visited Chang’an University. Vice president He Shuanhai welcomed the guest at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by heads of the International Office, School of Ecnomics and Management.


Vice President He Shuanhai extended his warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Paul Fanning and briefly introduced Chang’an University from cultivation of talents and international cooperation & exchange. He pointed out that since the signing of cooperation agreement, Chang’ an University and University College Dublin had been carrying out abundant cooperation and fruitful achievement. In the beginning of the year, China’s Ministry of Education had approved cooperating teaching project of Chang’ an University and University College Dublin, which marked the cooperation had stepped into a new stage. He also sent his appreciation to the effort University College Dublin made for cooperating teaching project. He hoped that Chang’an University and University College Dublin would be able to extend cooperation and exchange on cultivation of talents, staff exchange and research field, etc. And Chang’an University would make effort to support staffs and students to join exchange studying in University College Dublin. He hoped that University College Dublin could provide more support and assistance.


Vice president Paul Fanning expressed his appreciation for the reception and agreed the design of cooperation. Vice President Paul Fanning pointed out that cooperation between two schools had set a firm grounding and made remarkable achievement, and University College Dublin was excited with the approval of cooperation teaching project. With the deepening of the teaching project, there would be more opportunities for the staffs and students of two universities. Paul also appreciated Chang’an University’s high efficiency work on approval of the project. And he extended welcome to staffs and students of Chang’an University visiting University College Dublin, which would contribute to building closer cooperation relationship.


University College Dublin founded in 1854, it is Ireland's largest university, It has over 1,482 faculty and 32,000 including 6000 international students from 127 nations and regions. he 2017 QS World University Rankings ranks UCD #168 worldwide, and puts it in the 151-200 bracket, for graduate employability. The cooperation teaching program belongs to engineering and technology discipline ranks 107 of the world.
